My group's rap

Kia ora, Talofa and greetings to you all, Today at school me and my group (Hope,Hiria,Louvina,Raymond)  made a rap that would relate to what we have been learning about and what we have been reading about. My group was reading about Captain James Cook, So we had to make a rap about how he went there, When he got there and Why he went there. The song we have to rap to is "The fresh prince of bel air" but we have to do the instrumental version. Instrumental means when there is no lyrics or anyone singing and it's just the song. We didn't come up with lots but we got two paragraphs, their not that long though. Next week we have to present it to room 10/Group 2.

The word "Native" means when you are born in a specific place or associated with a place by birth. Another meaning is (of a plant or animal) of indigenous origin or growth. The word "Native is a noun and an adjective.

The word location is another way of saying where you are going to or where you are, when you use the google maps it shows you where to go, what road your supposed to take and where your location is, For example if you wanted to go to the beach but didn't know where it was then you ask someone around or put your "Location" into the google maps.

Technology - Sweet & Sour pork (with rice)

Talofa lava, Today I went to Tamaki college for technology. This time my buddy was Helena. We made sweet and sour pork. The first thing we did was put our stuff away and put an apron on. The things we used was to cook the food was: A frying pan, A wooden spoon and two knives. The ingredients we needed and used were: Onion, Carrots, Pork, Ginger, Sew Genie, Spice sauce, Broccoli, Curry powder, Rice and cucumber. The second thing was to Slice the onion, Diagonally slice the carrots, slice the pork, one teaspoon of ginger/garlic, SLice and dice the Sew Genie, Slice the Broccoli in four pieces, put some curry powder inside the sweet and sour pork and top it off with some rice. Technology was fun and delicouse. I can't wait for next time.

My first day of the weekends!

Talofa, Malo and greetings to you all, Today I am going to talk about what I did on the first day of the weekends, the first thing I did was go to training, then I went to get my nails done, After that I went home and watched Netflix and chill. After a while of watching Netflix I went onto my phone to say Hi to my friends on messenger. Right now I am talking to my friends and blogging at the same time. When I finish talking to my friends then I go onto my phone to see if I have any notifications. Tomorrow I will blog about what I'm going to do and what I am doing. I hope you enjoy! Thank you!

WALT: Read a text and share it to each other
This week I have been reading a text called Kuri. A key idea in this text is extension. An example of extension is when it is no longer alive. Another key idea in this text is clothing. An example of clothing is when you wear it. Kuri's were treated unfairly because people would skin the kuri's and use the fur for clothes like, T-shirts, pants and clocs to keep them warm. The kuri's ate the same thing as the people looking after them. Kuri's are dogs with long fur and pointy ears.

Kuri's are now extinct because they couldn't be alive for thousands of years. Another reason they are extinct is because people would eat them and the Kuri's would die. The Kuri's are a polynesian dog. People have found dog bones that are hundreds or even thousands of years old. Scientist have studied the dog bones.

Scientists agree that ancestors of kuri probably come from the east Asia and travelled from island to island with their owners. Kuri arrived in Aotearoa New Zealand with the early polynesian voyagers. Scientists think that the dogs were brought here because people knew Kuri would help them stay alive in the new land. Dogs were good hunters - they could help find and catch birds like kiwi.

 

Chinese new year!

This year I made a google drawing about "Chinese new year". I wrote facts about what chinese new year is about, how it started and when it ends and when it starts. One fact that I probably didn't write was that there is a animal calendar and how it works is that whenever you were born or whenever your birthday was then you look at the calendar to see what animal you are. Thank you!

Technology - Lentil Curry

Today was another day at Tamaki College, Kia Manawanui bussed down to tamaki college for technology. Today I was with Josephine and we made Lentil Curry. Step 1: dice theonion, Step 2: Fry it until it is soft, Step 3: add Garlic + Ginger + Curry, Step 4: Stir for 5 minutes, Step 5: Add spinach, Step 6: Add cream + Spicers +Salt, Step 7: Serve it with rice and then after that we cleaned up the kitchen and washed our dishes. We had to make soft carrots, so we put carrots into a pot that had 1 cup of water in it.
